About Maymom
Maymom was founded by a group of fathers with newborn babies, who decided to focus on designing, manufacturing and marketing of breast pump related products, after their own experiences.
They are Ph.Ds with Chemistry, Biology and Physics degrees. The founder, Liangchi Li, has a PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry (1998, Duke University, Durham, NC USA), and 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical lab and manufacturing (GlaxoSmithKline, 1998 - 2008). Based on their own expertise in plastic materials, they carefully select the material sources and verify the quality against current safety standards. They also check its performance in the everyday use. Maymom products pass SGS/Intertek testing and are compliant with current safety standards under US and EU laws.
They are glad that their babies are safer now because they use accessories with known sources and quality. And they hope Maymom's products can provide you the same benefits.
Their story:
Medela's Pump in Style (PIS) breastpump makes feeding a joyful work. We thank Medela for providing such a wonderful product. The only complaint we have on the product was that some of the accessories we bought from the market, even from Medela's authorized dealers, did not bear appropriate labeling of what a normal product should have.
For example, the tubing does not show the manufacturer name, the date of manufacturing, and not a single word. It was just packaged in a plain LDPE zip-lock bag. The PIS breast pump itself is like a workhorse but it needs replacement tubing very often. The tubing tends to become dirty from the collected moisture during use and it cannot be cleaned easily. We bought the replacement tubing from Medela's authorized dealers but we do not know if we have received a real Medela part since there was no labeling on the package.
With more concerns about the accessory quality and the safety of our own babies, we decided to start our own business in providing better-designed accessories that perform equal to or even better than the originals.

Q: Can I use a handsfree bra with this kit?
A: Yes and no. Because of the one-piece design, the breast flange is only compatible with SOME handsfree bras on the market, like Simplewishes and Simplicities. However, Maymom also offers DETACHABLE two-piece flanges to fit almost all pumping bras on the market.
